Let’s experience the power, beauty and fun of writing while journeying through history together.

Chenning Peng, a long time resident of the San Gabriel Valley, is a homeschool mother of four.  She is also an adoptive parent.  Having been helped so much by friends and family through her own experiences of parenting, adoption, and homeschooling, Chenning loves to support and encourage others on their journey.

For as long as Chenning can remember, she has loved reading and writing.  She still considers middle grade and young adult fiction as her favorite genres.  One of her favorite things to do is to matchmake people, especially young people, with great books.

Chenning received a B.A. in English Literature from UC Berkeley.  Her focus was British literature with an emphasis on Shakespeare.  From there, she went on to receive her California English single subject and multi subject teaching credentials from Point Loma Nazarene University.  Pre-kids, she taught four years in the Alhambra School District.  She has loved every minute of homeschooling her own four children through elementary and middle school.

Flexibility, education tailored to strengths and interests, amazing family relationships – these are some of the reasons Chenning loves homeschooling.  She also loves going on adventures to museums, bookstores and the library with her family.  Chenning homeschooled with the Classical Conversations homeschool community for a decade, teaching both lower elementary and upper elementary students in small classes.  She has taught the IEW writing method for 8 years, primarily in person, but also spent the last two years teaching online and hybrid writing classes.  Chenning has taken training courses at the Institute for Excellence in Writing.  She loves reading her students’ writing and considers it a great honor to do so!
